Climate Change in Central Minnesota

  I woke to a major thunderstorm this morning. It is the end of August. Growing up in central Minnesota, you become accustomed to general weather patterns. Sure, some winters are colder than others; some summers are hotter or rainier than others; and weather is not climate. Variations on a Theme

The lilies in our yard are just starting to bloom. Because of the combination of a few days of rain followed by a few days of sun, & etc., that we’ve had this summer, the leaves of the lilies are vibrant green and very healthy. There’s nothing I like better than taking my camera out and shooting dozens of photos, often of the same plant, but from different views or with different settings … variations…

My Snowy Valentine

It’s Valentine’s Day. (Happy Valentine’s to those who celebrate.) It’s also snowing here in Central Minnesota. (Happy Snow Day to those who celebrate.) It’s the kind of snow that whips about randomly as it’s falling. Not terribly heavy so even though it’s been snowing all day, there’s not much accumulation.
