Have you ever struggled to figure out which way to put a fitted sheet onto a mattress, particularly a queen-size mattress? Queen mattresses and their fitted sheets are fairly close to square, so inevitably I end up putting the sheet on incorrectly the first time around.
While not an earth-shattering problem, it was annoying.
And then someone had a brilliant idea and made a tiny but significant change to fitted bed sheets.

Some fitted bed sheets now come with a tag that says “Top or Bottom” to indicate which way to align the sheet on the mattress.
I noticed this change with the past couple of sheet sets I’ve purchased. I also found the same tag on our mattress cover.

Often, small changes in design can have the greatest impact. I’d like to shake the hand of (or share a pandemic-era elbow bump with) whoever came up with this “Top or Bottom” tag and thank them for saving me from the frustration of misaligning fitted sheets.
