It’s been a long time coming … a couple of years at least. It started with Ron Kresha giving us the shell of a Little Free Library two years ago. Last year in May, I set to work on painting and sealing it. This year … this week, actually … I finished putting the Plexiglas window in and Erik helped me dig the post hole, install the post, and make a platform for the library to sit on.
Our Little Free Library is finally up in our yard, filled with books to share with the neighbors and other passersby.
In examining what took us so long to finish this project, I realized that I tended to work on it when I had a long stretch of vacation days. One or two vacation days didn’t cut it because I typically have so much to catch up on that I couldn’t get around to extra projects. I’ve been off for a week now, so I had time to tackle this, with the generous and genius help of my Lovin’ Spouseful. (Thanks, Honey!)
The last thing I have to do is register it and get the official sign. In the meantime, the “Free Books” sign on the top will have to do.
